Daniel Craig as Jake Lonergan: I read the script and I thought what a fantastic movie. I'd like to see this movie. Because I always wanted to play a cowboy. It seems such a stretch when you're from the North of England. So I met with John and the whole thing sort of snowballed really. And suddenly I was running a horse.
It's a very tradition Western, with a lead character who lost his memory. And he sort of finds himself stuck in the middle of the desert, alone, beaten up, bleeding. With a sort of contraption on his wrist. Like nothing he's seen before. It's also a little bit like a bracelet. It could be something that maybe it's tribal. He doesn't really know.
I then it's really, the story for him is about finding out what happened to him.
The aliens attack and then I get the request from them to get their people back.
