Doc serves as, a little bit as the audience, as the voyeur. And also as the comic relief and a little bit of the moral conscience. That he takes over with Meacham, the preacher.
I think what's great about Jon is that he... Well, he likes to shoot in sequence as much as he can. Which is great. And I think that he enjoys improvisation. He's a good writer himself, so he's always trying to keep things real. And that's important. And he creates and atmosphere that's really relaxed for the actors.
