Director Rupert Wyatt: For me the best Hollywood films, there's always a human story. Films that deal with real drama, but at the same time stories that are told on a massive scale. It's about an animal that rages against the machine. Caesar is an ape that grows up in our world.
James Franco: Will is a scientist. He tests his drugs on apes. When Caesar starts exhibiting intelligence equal to a human's, there is a bond that is created between them.
Caesar sees the world for what it can be and then he begins to see the dark side. It's a story of a revolution. The end of our civilization and the beginning of a new one. If we as a civilization were to finish, which is very very feasible, what happens next? Who comes next?
