'Vikings' Star Joins Stephen King's 'The Mist' TV Adaptation
Alyssa Sutherland, has joined Spike's TV adaptation The Mist which is based on Stephen King's novella. Sutherland, who plays Queen Aslaug in History's 'Vikings', will take the role of Eve Cunningham, a wife and mother who fights to protect her daughter from unknown dangers. She joins Frances Conroy who is cast as Nathalie, a modern day ecological martyr.
The Mist series is set for 10 episodes and will tell the harrowing story about a strange mist that seeped into a small town and brings chaos and terrifying creatures. A film adaptation was made in 2007 by writer-director Frank Darabont with Thomas Jane and Marcia Gay Harden.
Emmy Winning director Adam Bernstein (30 Rock) will direct the series and Christian Torpe (Rita) will write and executive produce. Filming will begin this summer for a 2017 premiere.
