Warner Bros. Shows Interest in Making 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' a Big Screen Feature
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is one West End show you're unlikely to land tickets for, and that's if you even live there. Many fans worldwide will have to settle for the script book (which I'm looking forward to getting a hold of myself).
However, Warner Bros. clearly doesn't want to leave the stage show alone, despite its revitalisation of the franchise through Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The studio has applied for a class 9 trademark in the U.K. for the property. The number itself refers to "motion picture films."
While the studio are most likely simply keeping the ownership rights safe if they decide to pursue an adaptation, it nevertheless confirms that the talks are happening. There's a good chance we wouldn't see the film, should it happen, until after 2020 when the Fantastic Beasts trilogy wraps. Which gives Daniel Radcliffe plenty of time to want in, and age a little bit.
