Waypoint Entertainment Acquires "Plutona"
Waypoint Entertainment has acquired the film rights to the comic series Plutona. Written by Jeff Lemire and illustrated by Emi Lenox, Plutona is "a coming-of-age story which centers on a group of kids who find the body of a famous dead superhero in the woods."
Waypoint Entertainment's Ken Kao (produced The Nice Guys starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling) and his partner Dan Kao will produce Plutona in conjunction with Addictive Pictures' Russell Ackerman (produced Mama starring Jessica Chastain).
The five-issue limited series was released by Image Comics in September of last year.
