'Wolverine 3' Budget Revealed as Slightly Higher Than 'The Wolverine'
An application to film in Louisiana has revealed that the budget for The Wolverine sequel is $127 million. This puts the film, which began filming in early May, slightly above The Wolverine, which operated on a budget of $120 million.
Conversely, and understandably, this is well under a film like X-Men: Apocalypse, which had a budget of $178 million. X-Men: Origins: Wolverine had a budget of $150 million.
The film is expected to follow the Old Man Logan storyline, which details Logan in a dystopian future where the villains have won and Logan is brain-washed into murdering his fellow X-Men.
James Mangold directs the untitled film, which stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Steward, Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle and Elise Neal.
