'X-Files' and 'Hannibal' Alum Gillian Anderson Joins 'American Gods'
Production is well and truly on the way for Starz's 10-episode first season of American Gods, adapted from Neil Gaiman's critically acclaimed fantasy novel, and yet casting continues.
The latest to join is Gillian Anderson, of X-Files fame, who will play the character of Media, a supernatural publicist of sorts for the New Gods who takes the form of different celebrities.
The news reunites Anderson with executive producer Bryan Fuller, with whom she worked on Hannibal.
Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Sean Harris, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover, and Jonathan Tucker round out the core cast. The series is expected to premiere early next year.
