'X-Men: Dark Phoenix' Trailer 20th Century Fox

20th Century Fox dropped the exclusive first trailer for the next installment of the X-Men series starring Game of Thrones Sophie Turner as X-Men’s psychic mutant gone rogue.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is said to be a faithful adaptation of Chris Claremont and John Byrne's "The Dark Phoenix Saga” in which Turner’s Jean Grey has been taken over by the cosmic entity known as the Phoenix Force. The end result renders Jean even more powerful but severely unstable leaving Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) and crew in an internal battle to save Jean from the Phoenix, Michael Fassbender's turn as Magneto, and Jessica Chastain’s mysterious villain, Shi’ar Empress Lilandra, a shapeshifting alien who seeks to weaponize Jean's powers.

Longtime X-Men and Deadpool writer and producer Simon Kinberg will make his directorial debut as a follow up to 2016’s X-Men Apocalypse. Michael Fassbender (Erik Lehnsherr - Magneto) Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), and Evan Peters (Quicksilver) also return for Dark Phoenix.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is scheduled to hit theaters February 14, 2019.
