4. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
"When I'm around you, I kind of feel like I'm on drugs. Not that I do drugs. Unless you do drugs, in which case I do them all the time. All of them." — Scott
Michael Cera plays titular character Scott Pilgrim, a loveable nerdy musician yet vulnerable loser — a role made in comedy heaven for Cera. His character exists in a storyline that is epic in its potential consequences, yet all the while takes place in modest Toronto. It's a movie were comic book geeks rule and fanboys rebel. Itʼs a free-floating ode to all things nerd and is never shy at making a wise-crack or two at its stereotyped existence. There are pop culture references galore, sitcom laugh tracks and plenty of noir references that make Scott Pilgrim vs. the World one of the most inventive comedies of the past five years. It's an epic of epic epicness.
