Channing Tatum Officially Signs Up to 'Gambit'
If was only a few days ago that reports surfaced that Channing Tatum's 'Gambit' movie was hanging by a thread at 20th Century Fox Now, the Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the star has closed his deal with the studio to appear as the Cajun mutant Remy LeBeau.
THR says negotiations had been “sensitive” with regards to backend compensation, as well as Tatum’s involvement in the wider X-Men universe, with the studio viewing Gambit as a character who could headline his own movies as well as appearing in ensembles, much like Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine. Gambit is being directed by Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes) and is slated to go into production this October ahead of an October 7th 2016 release.
