Disney Sets July 2019 Release Date for New Indiana Jones; Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford Will Reunite
Disney has announced that Harrison Ford will be reprising his iconic role as Indiana Jones in the fifth instalment of the franchise with Steven Spielberg returning to direct.
The movie is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 19, 2019 and has yet to be given a title. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.
It has been widely talked about for sometime that a new Indiana Jones movie was heading our way. Many thought Disney could look to Chris Pratt to lead the future of the franchise but that doesn't seem to be the case. Although Ford has been announced to reprise his role, casting is still to be determined. Deadline reports that George Lucas will not be involved with the project. In the past, production on any Indy film wouldn't move forward unless Lucas and Spielberg saw eye-to-eye on script and other elements.
