Dwayne Johnson Responds to 'Big Trouble in Little China' Complaints

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong It broke last week that there could be a remake of John Carpenter's cult-classic Big Trouble in Little China on its way, with action star Dwayne Johnson set to star.

As expected, fan reaction to this news wasn't enthusiastic, and apparently Johnson has been tracking fan criticism. He read their reactions online, and also acknowledges that they might be right, and the project could get shelved.

He was speaking with EW at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards on Saturday when he addressed the backlash to the news. "I loved reading the reactions from the fans, that they were so polarised," said Johnson. "I’m the same way. My response is: know that I come to the project with nothing but love and respect for the original, which is why we want to bring on John Carpenter."

Johnson is currently riding the wave of success that disaster flick, San Andreas, has brought his way. The blockbuster is fast approaching the $100 million grossing marker and is set to be one of Johnson's most profitable movies of his career to date with him as the lead.
