Fun Facts On The 10 Most Successful Oscar Winning Films

Early Predictions for the Best Animated Feature Category

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong Animated films are as popular as ever. They draw huge numbers at the box office year in and year out, which has led the the Best Animated Feature category at The Oscars being just as important as any other.

Last year was a fairly weak line up of nominees. Frozen, unsurprisingly, walked away with the Oscar in one of the most one-sided categories. This year may well turn out to be similar with The LEGO Movie being the current heavy favourite. Unlike Frozen, The LEGO Movie will have competition in the way of Big Hero 6. Although Big Hero 6 hasn't been the box office juggernaut The LEGO Movie was— mainly due to it being released the same weekend as Interstellar— Big Hero 6 has proven to be a strong favourite with many critics and audiences alike. Other than Big Hero 6, we can't see any other animated movie challenging The LEGO Movie.

How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Boxtrolls and The Tale of Princess Kaguya are likely favourites to land the remaining three spots, but all are expected to be simply making up the numbers. What does stand out from this year's category is there will not be a single Pixar movie in contention. This year won't see a Pixar release with their next feature release being Inside Out, which is released June 2015.
