'Fantastic Four' Breaks A Record No Superhero Movie Wants To Break
Fantastic Four has received generally stinky reviews; its director Josh Trank publicly slating the film; its distributor Fox pointing the finger squarely at Trank (with them apparently locking him out the editing room), and the movie bombing at the box office with its sequel looking like it'll get shelved, too. Could things get any worse?
Of course it can. Fantastic Four has earned the lowest CinemaScore for a studio-produced superhero movie. Its C- rating is lower than Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (C+), Batman & Robin (C+) and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace (C). It’s also lower than The Green Hornet (B+) and Daredevil, Elektra and Catwoman, which all earned a B. That is a record no superhero strives to break.
