Guillermo del Toro's 'Pacific Rim 2' and 'Warcraft' Get New Release Dates
Duncan Jones’ Warcraft has been pushed from the 11th March 2016 to June 10th 2016, along with Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim 2, which has been moved from April 7th 2017 to August 4th 2017, after Universal unveil their upcoming slate at CinemaCon.
Along with those two new releases, the new Mummy movie has also changed from June 24th 2016 to March 24th 2017. The shake-up comes after Universal gave those dates to Fast and Furious 8 and the two Fifty Shades sequels.
Universal released the following press release regarding their re-structured slate of movies;
Legendary’s Warcraft, released in 3D by Universal Pictures, will move from March 11th 2016, to Friday June 10th 2016. Universal Pictures’ MENA will be released on Friday January 6th 2017, with Fifty Shades Darker being released on Friday February 10th 2017. The Mummy will move from June 24th 2016 to Friday March 24th 2017. The new chapter in Universal Pictures’ Fast and Furious saga will be released on Friday April 14th 2017. Legendary’s Pacific Rim 2 will move from April 7th 2017 to Friday August 4th 2017 with it being released in 3D by Universal Pictures. Fifty Shades Freed will be released on Friday February 9th 2018. The Untitled Universal Monster Franchise Film will move from April 21st 2017 to Friday March 30th 2018.
