Hugh Jackman Will Return for 'X-Men: Apocalypse' But Ian McKellen Will Not
Its been rumoured for a while that Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse but no official announcement has been made regarding his casting.
However, a leather goods company in Brooklyn, New York has revealed they are currently making a special leather duffle backpack which has been fitted for Jackman's character Wolverine for the new movie. Although this is hardly an official statement, it's a pretty strong pointer that Jackman will reprise his role.
On the other hand, Ian McKellen won't be playing Magneto in the new movie. Whilst speaking to Digital Spy McKellen said, “I haven’t heard the rumors. I don’t think I am, no, no. They’re currently making the film and I’m not in it.”
Michael Fassbender currently plays the younger version of Magneto and will reprise his role as the young Magneto. X-Men: Apocalypse opens May 27, 2016.
