Is Chris Pratt Playing Down the Indiana Jones Rumours?
The rumour mill is going into overdrive with these Chris Pratt and Indiana Jones whispers. This past Sunday at the Oscars sparked even more chit-chat making this whole story seem rather weird: everyone feels like they know whats going to happen eventually, except those people supposedly in the know.
On the red carpet at the Oscars this past Sunday, Chris Pratt shared his thoughts on the possibility of playing Indiana Jones with MTV. Unlike the recent TMZ video that recently surfaced of Pratt in an airport being asked about the role, this time, he was much more prepared for the question and said he hadn’t been contacted about the role, but was intrigued by it and not intimidated.
Pratt said, "It’s all nothing until it’s something and so far it’s not something… I don’t think it’s overwhelming to contemplate... I don’t know. It’d be cool. No one’s called me. There’s a lot of talk about it. The pressure would come just because it’s such a great franchise you wouldn’t want to get it wrong, so for me it would have to be perfect to do it. We’ll see, like I said it’s nothing until it’s something."
Just yesterday, we reported that Steven Spielberg has suggested he'd be interested in directing a new film, if all the pieces fit. Nothing from that source indicated that much had moved forward regarding this possible movie, but it is worth noting that Disney are indeed developing the possibility of a new Indiana Jones movie, with Pratt being their preferred choice to take over from Harrison Ford.
