Is Steven Spielberg Up for Directing Chris Pratt as Indiana Jones?
It's a rumour that has been circulating for around twelve months now, and in the past few weeks has been gaining more and more momentum. But is it now beginning to look like a real possibility?
The rumour is Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) could take over as Indiana Jones. Nothing has been offered to Pratt at this moment in time, and when asked about the potential role, Pratt has always played down the chit-chat (see video below). But, Deadline are reporting that Steven Spielberg — who has directed all of the other four Indiana Jones movies — is apparently fine with Pratt in the role, with some sources saying Spielberg has even hand picked Pratt to be the anchor of this potential rebirth that Disney are currently developing. Spielberg also wants to direct the new film, whenever it should happen.
Lets not get too carried away with ourselves. Pratt and Spielberg have yet to even hold official talks with Disney, simply because a script doesn't exist. But, if the script comes in and meets Spielberg's tastes, we could be set to see Pratt take over the bullwhip, and fedora from Harrison Ford.
