Jurassic World
Jurassic World is now available on Blu-ray, lets complete a little "Throwback Tuesday" Movie Review....
Jurassic World
This weekend we got to catch this summer's blockbuster “Jurassic World” during opening weekend.I have to admit, when I was younger I was a HUGE fan of the Jurassic Park franchise… I had a lot nostalgic feelings when watching Jurassic World.
Highly recommend to watch this movie in IMAX 3D, There were quite a few scenes that gave it more of an experience than watching it in traditional 2D. What is great about this movie, for someone who have never watched the original JP movies (You better have a birth year of 2000+) could watch this and pick right up, but there was a lot of nods to the original but nothing that is life altering if you watch Jurassic World prior to Jurassic Park.
There were two things I had struggled with on this film....
1.) Chris Pratt being a “Raptor Whisperer".
To me if just felt a little reaching…this guy was able to be the Alpha to the Raptors was a little cheesy. It was almost believable as this….
2.) Bryce Dallas Howard’s marathoning in high heels.
Not only was she able to run a marathon in heels, but in all different types of terrains. It was a bit much, and lets be honest unrealistic as a hybrid dinosaur that is about one genetic mutation away from being able to fly.
Best Scene
I feel I shouldn’t really discuss my favorite scene since there is quite a few people who have yet to see this movie, so I’ll stay hush but I’ll just add a little teaser…
If you have seen it, then you know what I’m talking about. ;)
Random thoughts
The original Jurassic Park was overall a pretty serious movie, It is hard to create comic relief when you have a carnivorous dinosaurs running rampant throughout a tourist park.
However, with Jurassic World they were able to throw in a quite a few witty scenes with having Chris Pratt, Jake Johnson within the cast.
Sadly they even let the same guy “Phil” supervise the dinosaurs throughout all the Jurassic Park films.
You had one job, PHIL!
Keep your eyes open during the chaotic Pterodactyl/Pteranodons scene…There is a guy (After doing some google stalking, I found out it was Jimmy Buffet) double fisting Margaritas while running for safety.
I thought that was pretty genius, and realistic.. If you think of prices at tourist parks let alone a park that has real dinosaurs…I could imagine an adult beverage would be quite pricy, so I as well would have been double fisting my drinks to safety!
Overall thoughts
This movie is AMAZING, It has action, laughs, dinosaurs what more could you ask for?!
Thanks for reading!
