Kurt Russell hints that Tarantino will start filming The Hateful Eight early next year

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong Since the script for Quentin Tarantino's supposed next movie The Hateful Eight leaked online earlier this year, it's been unknown as to whether Tarantino would ever make the movie. But Kurt Russell has given a strong hint that it may well be in the works.

Two months ago we reported (read here: http://bit.ly/1moYqAW ) that Tarantino was in fact toying with the idea of filming the leaked script after re-writing several key elements of the plot. Tarantino made quite a stir when he found out his work was published online and called it a personal betrayal, but now QT seems to be in a good place with this movie.

Around two months ago Tarantino and an ensemble cast featuring Kurt Russell and Tarantino regular Samuel L. Jackson, gave a live reading of the script in Los Angeles. Since then, it seems as though Tarantino and his production team have been moving steadily forward in pre-production and now seem to be in a place where they are ready to start shooting very soon.

Speaking to Fox 59 in Philadelphia, Kurt Russell gave a hint that shooting will start early next year. Talking about his recent documentary 'The Battered Bastards of Baseball,' he was asked what other projects he had on his horizon, Russell said;

"I’ve got a Tarantino project called The Hateful Eight that looks like it may go somewhere around the beginning of the year."

Although only a brief statement, that is very good news for us all. Hopefully something more sufficient like casting may be announced in the near future, but it seems as though Tarantino has put the negativity of the script leak behind him.
