Michael Shannon reteams with MUD director Jeff Nichols for LOVING
'Loving' is the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple who were imprisoned in 1958 Virginia for getting married.
Based on the 2011 documentary 'The Loving Story', 'Loving' stars Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga as the title characters, with Michael Shannon in a supporting role as LIFE Magazine photographer Grey Villet.
The film marks Shannon's fifth collaboration to date with director Jeff Nichols, who previously directed Shannon in 'Shotgun Stories' (2007), 'Take Shelter' (2011) and 'Mud' (2012), and the upcoming sci-fi 'Midnight Special', also starring Edgerton.
'Loving' is currently in production and is looking at a 2016 release date.
