UPSTREAM COLOR director Shane Carruth signs with WME
WME has officially announced that they have signed 'Upstream Color' writer/director Shane Carruth to direct 'The Modern Ocean', which has already gone into pre-production.
Carruth is known for his micro-budget indie features 'Primer' and 'Upstream Color', which caused quite a buzz at Sundance in 2004 and 2013, respectively. In addition to writing and directing, Carruth also produced, shot, edited, composed and starred in both films.
'The Modern Ocean' will be produced by Carruth and Lawrence Inglee, in partnership with financier Gideon Tadmor. It is a nautical action/adventure centered upon international shipping and the lives of those involved, and will mark Carruth's first big-budget endeavor.
