In a recent interview, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow said that if there is a Jurassic World 2, he won’t be directing it. “Jurassic Park is like Star Wars. Different directors can give a different taste to each movie. I would be involved in some way, but not as director.”
Tilda Swinton Talking With Marvel for Role in ‘Doctor Strange’
Tilda Swinton is in talks with Marvel to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in 'Doctor Strange.’ The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that actress is in talks to play The Ancient One in the upcoming movie. In the comic books, The Ancient One is a Tibetan mystic that is a mentor to Doctor Strange. The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, with Scott Derrickson directing. The movie is set for release on November 4th 2016.
Jaws Returning to Cinemas in June for 40th Birthday
Steven Spielberg's 1975 classic Jaws is returning to theaters this summer to mark the iconic film's 40th anniversary. ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’ being Developed as TV Series
'The Talented Mr. Ripley' being developed as TV series. Endemol Shine is partnering production company Television 360 and publisher Diogenes to turn Patricia Highsmith's book series into a TV project. ‘Game of Thrones’ star Guymon Casady and Benjamin Forkner are executive producing the show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is expected to "explore the sophistication and complexity of the main character"
Full Steam Ahead for ‘Layer Cake’ Sequel
Jason Statham says "it’s full steam ahead" on 'Layer Cake' sequel 'Viva La Madness' which is set to shoot in 2016. It was first revealed in 2013 that Statham was set to produce and star in a Layer Cake sequel, replacing Daniel Craig as the leading man. Viva La Madness is based on the book by J.J. Connolly, who also wrote Layer Cake.
Statham recently spoke with DigitalSpy and confirmed the project is still on course. “J.J. Connolly’s written a great book called Viva La Madness, and we’re taking that book and doing something great with it,” the actor said. “He’s such a talented writer, the book was incredible. I loved Layer Cake and this is, if anything, better. We’re doing it next year, and it’s full steam ahead.”
Eddie Redmayne to Star in Harry Potter Prequel
Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne will star in Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Warner Bros has officially confirmed. He will play pre-eminent Wizarding World magizoologist, Newt Scamander, who writes the famous Hogwarts School textbook that gives the film its title. Harry Potter author JK Rowling is making her screenwriting debut on the film. The film's director David Yates said, "Eddie is a fearless actor, brimming with invention, wit and humanity." He added, "I couldn't be more excited about the prospect of working with him as we start this new adventure in JK Rowling's wonderful world, and I know she feels the same way."
dwayne johnson in talks to star in 'big trouble in little china' remake
Dwayne Johnson is in negotiations to star in a remake of ’80s cult classic Big Trouble in Little China’ for 20th Century Fox. Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz are penning the script with Johnson and his producing partners Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia on board to produce. With his recent successes with San Andreas and Furious 7, Johnson is becoming a strong action draw in Hollywood.
