Oscar Isaac signs up to play villain in 'X-Men: Apocalypse'
Producers of the new X-Men movie announced that Oscar Isaac has signed up to play the lead villain in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Isaac has been a very busy man lately. He recently finished working on another huge franchise in the name of Star Wars. A pretty huge deal for the actor who was a somewhat unknown before he appeared in the Coen Brothers' Inside Llwelyn Davis the other year. Since then, Isaac has appeared in such movies as Robin Hood, Sucker Punch, Drive, The Bourne Legacy and will now try his hand in another large franchise movie.
According to Variety, X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer has been meeting with actors for the past few weeks, with Isaac being one of Singer's early preferred choices to play the bad guy. Isaac joins returning cast members Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence.
Written by Simon Kinberg, X-Men: Apocalypse promises to close out the First Class trilogy with 'mass destruction.' It’s set in the ’80s and is expected to feature younger versions of certain classic characters including Cyclops and Jean Grey.
X-Men: Apocalypse opens 27th May 2016.
