Everything is once again awesome in LEGO Land. After their ridiculous Oscar snub, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller picked up the BAFTA for Best Animated Film at last nights British Academy of Film Awards in London.
Along with their much deserved win came some interesting news regarding the sequel to The LEGO Movie and everything may not be so awesome for poor Emmett after all. Lord and Miller, who will write and produce the sequel rather than direct, revealed that the sequel will unfold in a “weird, dystopian version of Bricksburg.” As previously reported, the story will pick up four years after the events of the first film. It is also being reported that The LEGO Movie 2 will introduce a whole host of new characters around Emmett, including his sister.
The Lego Movie 2 is expected to hit theatres sometime after the LEGO Batman Movie, which is expected to be released in 2017. Another LEGO Movie spin-off, Ninjago, will premiere 23rd September 2016.
