Rumoured Tarantino wants Viggo Mortensen for 'The Hateful Eight'
With The Hateful Eight officially announced as Quentin Tarantino's next movie, rumours are beginning to unfold as to who Tarantino will cast.
It is expected that Kurt Russell and Tarantino regular, Samuel L. Jackson, will soon be announced as cast members with Jennifer Lawrence also being hotly tipped to sign up for the project. It is now being reported another name has emerged as a front runner to join the cast too, Viggo Mortensen.
The Lord of the Rings star is rumoured to be Tarantino’s choice for one particular badass-sounding character. Tarantino and Mortensen where spotted in New York’s Greenwich Hotel. The New York Daily News reporter saw “the pair have what appeared to be scripts in front of them and to be discussing characters.” Specifically, Tarantino was “boisterously” talking up a “ruthless gang leader” role to Mortensen.
Admittedly, this report is a little too bare. An informal chat could mean anything and in no way confirms actual casting. There’s no indication that Mortensen has received an official offer, but the possibility of Mortensen teaming up with Tarantino is intriguing.
