Star Wars: Episode VII is already shooting
Recently, Disney's Alan Horn sat down with the Hollywood Report where the upcoming Star Wars film was a hot topic of conversation.
casting
Rumours have been circulating about potential castings pretty much since it was announced that J.J. Abrams would be directing the seventh episode. Regarding this subject Horn said "we have a lot of them, it's just not completely done yet." As of writing this, no one has officially been announced yet. Horn was quick to point out that casting has been the toughest part so far of pre-production.
the script
Like all films, it begins on a piece of paper, and Horn was quick to point out that getting script right was extremely important every one involved. The trickiest part of this Star Wars film, is this episode starts after the events of Return of the Jedi, which was released 30 years ago. Horn said, "It's all about the screenplay. It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay." Horn also mentioned that the script is in the place it needs to be. The script was written by Lawrence Kasdan and J.J. Abrams, following an early draft by Michael Arndt.
Shooting
Like most hugely anticipated movies, rumours spread like wildfire. Approximately six weeks ago, rumours surfaced that shooting would begin on the 14th May 2014. But Horn revealed that shooting has already begun. "Actually, we're shooting some of it now," he said. He didn't reveal whether this was merely test shooting or actually on-set production. Whatever it may be, Star Wars: Episode VII is well on the road to a cinema near you.
