Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may struggle to break-out from the crowd
A reboot is never a surefire success, always having the potential to fall flat on their face. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has had it's fair share of successes and failures. This new reboot has the potential to do well, but faces strong competition in August.
SYNOPSIS
Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April O'Neil and her cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder's diabolical plan.
Prediction
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is released seven days after Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and if that particular release does bring in it's projected numbers, it could easily overshadow and dominate the turtles. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles should consider itself a success if it brings in between $30-40million in it's opening weekend.
