The Academy Announce the Presenters for the 2016 Oscars -- And They're A Diverse Bunch

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong As we head towards the 88th Academy Awards at the end of this month firmly underneath a dark cloud that questions their diversity, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) announced the presenters for the biggest night in Hollywood — and would you believe it — it's a diverse bunch.

Featuring some of the acting worlds most notable faces mixed with pop stars and veteran actors, the presenters are: Benicio Del Toro, Tina Fey, Whoppi Goldberg. Ryan Gosling, Kevin Hart, Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Charlize Theron, Jacob Tremblay, The Weeknd and Pharrell Williams. They will be joined by Steve Carell, Priyanka Chopra, Quincy Jones, Byung-hun Lee, Olivia Munn, Margot Robbie, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, Kerry Washingston and previous Oscar winners Jared Leto, Julianne, Moore, J.K. Simmons and Reese Witherspoon.

"Each of these artists brings a wonderfully distinctive element to the Oscars stage," show producers David Hill and Reginald Hudlin said. "Together they represent the many thrilling ways stories can be shared about the human experience, and we're honoured they will be part of the celebration."

The Oscars will air live on ABC from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on February 28.
