'The Big Short' Wins Scripter Award for Best Adapted Screenplay
Adam McKay and Charles Randolph won themselves another screenwriting award by winning the USC Libraries Scripter Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The Scripter Award is given to the best book-to-screen adaptation with the prize being awarded to the screenwriters and author of the work from which the screenplay was based on, which means Michael Lewis also picked up the honour.
This is another huge step in the right direction for The Big Short as it heads towards landing the Best Adapted Screenplay gong at the Oscars next week, Behind The Revenant, The Big Short has had a very impressive award season to date, and is the favourite to land the adapted screenplay Oscar.
For the first time in its history, the Scripter Award gave out its first honour for Best Adapted Television script which went to HBO's miniseries Show Me A Hero. It beat out single-episode scripts from Game of Thrones, The Leftovers, The Man in the High Castle and Master of Sex.
