The Interview Will Stream on Netflix January, 24
Remember a month ago when we weren't sure if we'd get to see The Interview at all? Well, Netflix is about to stream it from Saturday 24th January.
It's been over a month since Sony Pictures announced that it would not be releasing The Interview in theatres because major chains didn't want to screen it after a terrorist threat issued by a hacker group calling itself the Guardians of Peace. A lot has changed since then.
The Interview was released on Christmas Day— for one day only— across limited theatres and on-demand services. It made approximately $46 million on release, making it one of the most successful video on demand (VOD) releases of all time. This has now led to Netflix agreeing a deal to stream the movie on their site for their users. As of Saturday 24th January 2015, The Interview will be in wide circulation across the on-demand site.
