The LEGO Movie Sequel Gets a Director
The LEGO Movie has a sequel and two spin-off movies on the way, and now the writing/producing team of Phil Lord and Chris Miller have revealed who will direct the sequel.
The second movie will officially be known as 'The LEGO Movie Sequel' according to a press release and it will be directed by Rob Schrab, who has directed such things as, Community, The Mindy Project, Children's Hospital, and was a writer on The Sarah Silverman Show. Lord and Miller are still the primary screenwriters on the sequel, and are still working from a story by Lord, Miller, Jared Stern and Michelle Morgan.
Not much is known about the plot for the sequel, but Miller did give a snippet of information regarding the movie in a recent interview, Miller said, "Well I don’t want to give you spoilers but we were really interested in what happens to that boy who’s in the meta story in the first movie when he’s four years older. When he’s an adolescent how does that change his point of view? And it’s nice to have the characters start in a different place from the first movie. Emmet, for example, was in an existential crisis of having seen another dimension and was questioning the whole point of his existence."
Before 'The LEGO Movie Sequel' is released, we have two spin-offs that'll feature characters from the first movie. First, we'll have 'Ninjago' which will be released on the 23rd September 2016, with 'LEGO Batman' following it in May 2017. Finally, 'The LEGO Movie Sequel' will arrive sometime in 2018.
