Watch One-Hour 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' Making Of Documentary
Currently amongst a strong field of competitors all hoping to win the Best Animated Film at the upcoming 87th Academy Awards— How to Train Your Dragon 2 has the opportunity to do what its predecessor didn't: win an Oscar.
With the much publicised snubbing of The LEGO Movie during the annoucment of the Oscar nominees this past month, the category of Best Animated Film has been a hotly contested one. All five nominees stand a good chance of winning, but if you break it down, it will most likely come down to just two: Big Hero 6 and How to Train Your Dragon 2. For the latter to reign victorious, DreamWorks Animations have to be original in their campaigning, and that is exactly what they've done.
Exclusive to their awards website, DreamWorks have released an one-hour long documentary exploring the making of the second movie. The video is called Where No One Goes: The Making of How To Train Your Dragon 2 and, is only available to watch via the website itself (link below). But it's worth the watch. It does a good job of taking you on the trip of making the sequel.
How to Train Your Dragon 2 is now on Blu-ray. Director Dean DeBlois is currently working on How to Train Your Dragon 3 which is set for a 2018 release. Here’s his latest update on that film from last week:
"There were a few months of pitching outlines and making sure that everybody was content with where it was headed, and now I’m deep into the script. I’m about halfway through. I was literally working on it this afternoon before coming here. I have to hand it off pretty soon."
