The reason behind her departure was due to creative differences. "Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together," the studio said in a statement.
Gal Gadot is attached to star in the movie, with Jason Fuchs writing the script. The studio was currently in the middle of pre-production, attempting to lock down other roles for the film. Where this new development leaves the project is currently unknown.
It is set for a release on the 23rd June 2017, but with MacLaren now leaving the project, it is unknown whether the studio still plan to go ahead with that release date, or delay the project.
