Zack Snyder confirmed to direct two-part Justice League movie
Around six months ago, we reported Warner Bros. had singled out Zack Snyder as their prime choice to direct the Justice League movie. Now, Warner Bros. can confirm their appointment, with some more interesting news, too.
Snyder has been confirmed to direct not just one Justice League film, but two films. What's interesting about this two film deal, is it isn’t just a standard one film and a sequel outline, but in fact, a two-part story. Zack Snyder will direct Justice League: Part One which is earmarked for a release in 2017, followed by Justice League: Part Two in 2019.
Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams will reprise their roles as Batman, Superman and Wonder Women, respectively, in the first movie, and are expected to do the same for the second part in 2019.
Warner Bros. is one of the many studios that enjoys splitting films in two when possible, simply because of the financial gain they can achieve in doing so. This, however, is the first time we’ve seen this idea applied to a superhero film. Although, there has been recent reports that Marvel are planning the same approach for the third Avengers movie. In addition, no news has confirmed on who else will star in the first Justice League movie, although Ezra Miller has been confirmed as Flash for a solo movie, so it could be possible that we see Flash in the Justice League movie.
